The alligator grabbed the 8-pound VideoRay ROV and traveled
for about 50 feet with the tether in its jaws. The ROV tether suffered a
small cut. Steve Van Meter of NASA/Kennedy Space Center remarked, "Bottom
line: we were lucky more damage was not done, and really lucky to have been
