A recess is molded in the top of VideoRay's new float block to accommodate a transponder for the Desert Star Positioning System, which allows accurate navigation and searching with the VideoRay ROV, regardless of visibility.

The US Coast Guard has already equipped four Maritime Safety and Security Teams (MSSTs) with VideoRay and expanded the availability to five more MSSTs through a major contract awarded in October of 2004.
