Miami International Boat Show, Miami, FL, February 13, 2001 - VideoRay,
the manufacturer of the world's smallest ROV (remotely operated
vehicle), is holding a press conference on Thursday, February 15
at 11am in booth 3968 at the Miami Boat Show. The featured speaker
is Steve Van Meter, a Hazardous Duty Robotics Specialist from NASA/Kennedy
Space Center, who uses the VideoRay ROV to explore the waters around
NASA/Kennedy Space Center.
Van Meter recently encountered a large Florida alligator that went
tether-to-teeth with the 8-pound ROV, which is used by scientists
and boat-owners alike to see and explore underwater. Van Meter will
show never-seen-before video footage of the gator's attack and discuss
how VideoRay is a safe alternative to putting people in the water.
