VideoRay ROVs are well suited for shallow and shorter (less than 10 km) pipeline inspections. A good operator can inspect kilometers of pipe in a day, in many cases from a very shallow draft boat. This allows inspection into very shallow areas – often all the way to shore. Recorded video shows the entire pipeline, and the operator can take still photos of areas of concern.
The VideoRay ROV pilot can fly along or inside the pipe checking for leaks as well inspecting the integrity of welds and seams. The small diameter of the VideoRay allows for internal pipe inspections down to 30 cm (12 in) in diameter.
In the instance of a raised pipeline with submerged footers, the VideoRay can be deployed off a small vessel and quickly move from footer to footer inspecting the integrity of the structures. The VideoRay Cockpit software allows users to enter text overlay so each item of interest can be recorded on the video for identification during analysis.
