What We Learned

VideoRay presented the fastest, most portable, proven, robust, mature, and least costly solution during the HULSFest demonstrations. On day one, VideoRay searched all areas of the hull and adjacent pilings, and found all targets. On day two, VideoRay demonstrated several "Concept of Operations" tactics such as the ability to search the sea floor and retrieve objects, remote command and control, cooperative use of VideoRays and simulated diver interaction, and reacquisition of marked targets. The U. S. Navy report on VideoRay’s performance cited the following.

— The VideoRay ROV system is truly 2-man portable.
Only one person is needed to launch and recover the vehicle.
Very fast setup of control station and navigation calibration.
The small VideoRay ROV is very agile and quick.
Small enough and adequately maneuverable for searching
           –
The inboard side of the ship
           – The running gear portions of the ship
           – The areas around piers and pilings
The VideoRay system demonstrated its robustness during both trials.
VideoRay has sold over 600 ROV systems, in a broad range of environmental conditions.
