MTS ROV Committee Presents Award To VideoRay At Underwater Intervention 2010

VideoRay was recently honored with the 2010 Marine Technology Society Corporate Excellence Award at the 2010 Underwater Intervention show in New Orleans this month. The award is presented when deemed appropriate by the MTS ROV Comittee to a corporation that has had outstanding success or growth, or made some unusual contribution to the ROV community.

The brochure given out at the awards banquet read:

VideoRay: Successful Corporation & Honorable Corporate Citizen

Founded a short ten years ago, this company has grown into the highest unit volume Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV) company in the world. VideoRay provides first responders, coast guard and navy specialists, commercial divers, researchers, and others a powerful, portable, and easily operated underwater investigation tool. VideoRay has partnered with sonar, sensor, and positioning companies to provide integrated tools for a wide variety of underwater challenges inland, in coastal waters, and even some offshore applications.

As VideoRay has expanded and created a new market segment for these micro and mini ROVs, the company has worked hard as a corporate citizen to provide guidance, support, and tools for students, researchers, and industry groups. That work includes making kits available and providing technical support to universities for research projects.

Of particular note is VideoRay’s support for the Marine Advanced Technology Education (MATE) Center and the International ROV Competition. VideoRay regularly provides judges, underwater video, above water photography, and technology support for contestants.

VideoRay’s support of the Underwater Intervention Conference is also notable. In addition to occupying several booths and bringing a large contingent of employees, the company and its successful users present a significant number of technical papers each year. VideoRay also donates time and resources to produce the technical program DVD.
