Innovation Improves Health and Safety and Saves Money! - November 14, 2007
Buckinghamshire, like many inland local authorities, has a large number of long, low and submerged bridges and culverts. The county council has a duty to regularly inspect these structures to look for defects that affect their load carrying capacity and / or the safety of the travelling public. As with all UK councils, employees of BCC employees need to do more work with less funding and time. Tim Rackham’s work – outlined in the presentation linked below – shows how VideoRay paid for itself in the first 4 weeks of operation. Tim’s innovative low cost accessories were key to BCC’s success in bridge and structure inspection. (Note the protective cage and laser scaling tool)
