Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) personnel conduct underwater detections and investigations of hazardous devices and explosive ordnance including improvised, chemical, and nuclear devices. The VideoRay ROV can keep divers out of the water in dangerous, unknown conditions, or provide them valuable information that significantly reduces the diver’s time-on-target and risk exposure in hazardous situations.
The VideoRay Pro 4 Military ROV systems have the ability to autonomously search, detect, and identify marked or unmarked targets with the addition of an option totally unique to VideoRay and not available on any other competeing small inspection class ROV systems. VideoRay CoPilot and VideoRay Sonar CoPilot are two autonomous navigation and autonomous control systems which incorporate SeeByte software - the world's leader in awareness control software for unmanned vehicles, Teledyne Explorer DVLs (Doppler Velocity Logs) to assist with Dynamic Positioning and navigation, and BlueView P900 series multibeam sonars (with the Sonar CoPilot) for target acqusition and one click "automatic go to target" capability in low visibility environments.
The VideoRay can locate and reacquire items attached to ship’s hulls, on pier pilings, or on the seabed. The VideoRay’s lightweight, rapid setup, and deployment time makes it especially useful to EOD, because EOD divers cannot simply show up on scene and begin dive operations immediately. There is valuable time spent to secure (tag out) components of the ship such as intakes, sonars, and screws before divers may enter the water to begin operations. VideoRay can be safely deployed immediately upon arrival on scene to begin area search and item identification.
